There are few times that I can think of when I believe that a bike deserves to go faster more than with the Irish Sprint Tandem. Martin (stoker) and Eamonn (pilot) have worked tirelessly in pursuit of both competing and excelling at the Tokyo Paralympics. The Cycling Ireland support team have been a huge part of this, but without the additional drive and determination to overcome the challenges thrown at them, they would not have succeeded.
The boys have just competed in the Tokyo Paralympics and absolutely rode out of their skins to clock a time of 1.01.545 and finish in 5th place. To do this on an alloy frame is an incredible achievement and I am delighted for them as I know just how much it means. It has been a pleasure to work with both the riders and staff at Cycling Ireland to help this performance come together. I am a very happy coach!
